Hi, my name is Carol and welcome to BareBonesBreathe.
I recently discovered that my favourite colour is mustard (and yes I have even owned a mustard car!).
It may not seem significant, agreed, but isn’t it beautiful that there still is more of you to discover. Everyday you’ll find out new things about and within yourself, be it strength, resilience, patience, kindness, abilities you never knew you had. From trivial stuff to important stuff, there’s a lot more you can offer the world!
So why BareBonesBreath, you wonder?
I actually got the idea for this title from one of my all time favourite verses; Ezekiel 37:4
Then he said to me, “Prophesy to these bones and say to them, ‘Dry bones, hear the word of the Lord! 5 This is what the Sovereign Lord says to these bones: I will make breath enter you, and you will come to life. 6 I will attach tendons to you and make flesh come upon you and cover you with skin; I will put breath in you, and you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the Lord.”
All of us have some form of dead bones in our lives. For some it is obvious, coming from broken homes where there is no trust or love and for others it’s a little more hidden. For others it is the mistakes we have made, the bad decisions and choices we have made. We feel guilty, silly, unworthy, irredeemable, beyond rescue, depressed, unworthy, and a whole catalogue of feelings. For others it’s the people in our lives who have hurt us, who make it difficult to love, to trust and see the best in other people or life in general.
We have those little and for some big insecurities that stop us from living in God’s abundance, fully living out what we were meant to be, and we don’t even realise it.
BareBonesBreathe is about restoration, healing and fulfilling your God’s given purpose. Whatever you’ve been through to get to this point does not have to define your future. Your future can be filled with so much love, trust, forgiveness and abundance that you never knew possible.
Those parts of your life, dreams and God given desires that you think are dead, God says he can breathe life into them again.
Do you believe that God is a God of his word? All I know is that his word will not return void, it shall accomplish whatever he sets it out to. God’s restoration is not for specific special people, it’s for you. What greater example than the Israelites, how many times did God restore them, time and time again?
Stop hiding behind your past pain give it up to God and watch him give you beauty for the ashes. He is a God who makes rivers flow on barren heights, springs within valleys and turns the desert into pools of water. Let him restore you and bring those dead bones to life again!
I hope you find the posts helpful and somewhat inspiring on this journey that you’re on:)
